DESCRIPTION:Enhance your knowledge and use of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model to support classroom instruction for Multilingual learners at your school or district. Please join us for this engaging online version of our CAL SIOP Overview. \nInstitute Details\nBy joining the four-day virtual CAL SIOP for Educators: Foundations institute\, build your confidence in planning and delivering lessons that effectively integrate language development with content instruction. This interactive professional learning experience introduces educators to the research-based CAL SIOP Model and provides practical strategies for meeting the needs of multilingual learners across grade levels and content areas. \nDesigned for educators who are new to CAL SIOP\, the institute offers a comprehensive overview of its eight components\, with opportunities to apply them through demonstrations\, video analysis\, small-group tasks\, and lesson planning. Participants will reflect on how to adapt CAL SIOP strategies for their specific content area\, grade level\, student population\, and school initiatives. \nBetween sessions\, participants will complete approximately four hours of facilitator-assigned asynchronous tasks to deepen their learning.
