About the event
With ever-increasing diversity in schools and communities around the country, the need to create educational access and opportunity for every student has never been greater. In celebration of International Mother Language Day (IMLD), CAL is pleased to host a collaborative and interactive event designed to promote linguistic equity and cultural proficiency in our schools.

The afternoon will focus on promoting cultural proficiency as an effective approach to create communities of inclusion in our schools, with practical tools and tips on how to create educational access and boost the achievement of all students. Participants will also collaborate with their fellow educators on effective ways to engage school communities in the creation of a more inclusive climate for all students and their families, in particular for students who are bilingual and bicultural.
