DESCRIPTION:Enhance your SIOP Model knowledge to support delivery of effective professional development workshops at your school. \nTake your expertise in the CAL SIOP Model to the next level and gain the tools to lead high-quality professional development in your school or district. This interactive\, cohort-based virtual institute is designed for educators with a solid foundation in CAL SIOP who are ready to become facilitators and trainers. \nBuilding on your previous knowledge and experience\, this institute focuses on strengthening your understanding of the eight components of the CAL SIOP Model while equipping you with essential training and coaching skills to guide colleagues in implementing sheltered instruction. \nUsing a flipped classroom approach\, participants will engage in four live\, 4.5-hour online sessions and complete facilitator-assigned self-paced activities between meetings. Participants will also begin preparing a sample CAL SIOP PD session plan to share with the cohort.\n\nSchedule\n\nFour interactive live sessions held on July 13\, 14\, 15\, and 16\, 2026 \, from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM and 1:30–3:00 PM ET each day\nApproximately 4 hours of facilitator-assigned\, self-paced learning to be completed between sessions\nNote: the asynchronous assignments may be completed up to one month post-institute to earn additional digital badges.\n\nCost\n\nEarly bird pricing (individual): $1\,365 per person if registered by June 8\, 2026\nStandard individual rate: $1\,570 per person for registrations after June 8\, 2026\nGroups of 2 or more qualify for the early bird rate of $1\,365 per person\nRegister early—space is limited\nRegistration closes on June 22\, 2026\n\nCost includes the following materials*: \n\nA downloadable trainer packet with facilitation tools\, presentation templates\, and sample workshop activities\nDigital copy of Using the SIOP Model: Professional Development Trainer’s Guide\nAccess to curated CAL SIOP digital training resources and planning guides\n\nVenue\nThis Institute will be held online via the CAL-hosted Zoom platform. \nGraduate Credit Option\nAn option for two graduate credits from Trinity Washington University is available for this CAL Institute. The cost is $495. Participants must attend all workshop days and complete an assignment to be distributed during the institute.
